Why I'm Running

I have a strong belief in the importance of local government and the crucial role of local officials in creating and nurturing a strong, vibrant and happy community.  To achieve this goal, I believe in the importance of quality education, safe schools, and supporting our educators.  I believe in smart and careful infrastructure growth and management that balances the needs of business and those of residents.  I also believe in supporting a healthy population and maintaining safety for all residents.  It is for all of these reasons I am running for Knox County Commission At Large, Seat 11.

I moved to Tennessee nearly 20 years ago and have a great love for this state.  After completing my undergraduate degree from Florida State University, I later moved to Chattanooga and earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, giving me a deeper respect and understanding of the role and function of local government.  Working as a project management professional for nearly 20 years overseeing multi-million dollar projects has taught me that success is achieved when all parties come together with a desire to reach consensus balanced with varied needs to produce the best outcomes.  This is the kind of experience I will bring to the Knox County Commission.

Six years ago, I chose Knox County as my place of business and my home to raise and educate my daughter.  It has been a wonderful experience for us.  I chose Knox County because of its great schools, beautiful parks, vibrant cultural atmosphere, and thriving economy.  During my time here, I have given back to the community by volunteering with various festivals, my daughter’s school, and the American Red Cross.  I am asking for your vote for Knox County Commission At Large, Seat 11 so I can continue to work hard for Knox County to be a thriving community.
